Corus Entertainment

Toronto, Ontario

Project Description

Crossey Engineering Ltd. provided the mechanical and electrical design services for Corus Quay, a state-of-the-art broadcasting facility located along Toronto’s waterfront.

This 400, 000 sq. ft. building is a conglomeration of twenty-four television services, three radio stations, and holds the capacity for three times more future broadcasting than it currently produces. It serves as a beacon of change in the update and rejuvenation of Toronto’s waterfront.

Stations that currently call Corus home include CILQ FM (Q107), CFNY (102.1), YTV, and Teletoon. Crossey was involved in the tenant fit-up, and designed new generator facilities of 5 MVA, incoming servicing of 8 MVA of electrical power, and new UPS facilities with 500 KVA for future expansion. Mechanically, a new chiller plant and associated air handling unit were designed, along with 10,000 sq. ft. of TSR, PER, and SER.
