Crossey Engineering Ltd. provided the Mechanical design for this new theatre designed specifically for the use of the prestigious Shakespeare Theatre in downtown Washington.  Located on an extremely tight site, the 800 seat theatre occupies the lower five floors of an eleven storey office building.  Concentrated design effort was required to coordinate services for the two uses and provide acoustic separation.  Mechanical services were coordinated around a flexible theatre design that included a removal proscenium, thrust stage, and exposed stage walls.  Architect - Diamond & Schmitt Architects Inc.; Acoustician - The Talaske Group, Inc.; Theatre Consultant - Fisher Dachs Associates.
