University of Toronto, Mississauga Residence

University of Toronto, Mississauga Residence in Mississauga, Ontario. Crossey Engineering Ltd. provided Electrical and Mechanical Design for this 230 bed Student Residence in accordance with University of Toronto standards and developed by design team to exceed National Energy Code and ASHRAE 90.1 and meet CBIP requirements. To achieve energy savings this 120,000 sq.ft. Green Design facility included efficient lighting systems, variable speed pumping, efficient building skin, heat recovery on exhaust air and shading by fenestration. The scope of work included lighting, power distribution, emergency power, communications, life safety systems, HVAC, plumbing and drainage, site services, fire protection and commissioning. This building won the 2004 Mississauga Urban Design Award.  The M&E Construction Costs were $2.8 million.
