Since the early 1990's Crossey Engineering Ltd. has been working on a regular basis for TEVA (Novopharm Ltd.) at the Stouffville, Markham and Toronto Locations.  The first large project we completed was the manufacturing expansion at Hood Road.  Since that time we have completed various studies, equipment / plant upgrades, documentation improvements, renovations and expansions.

Some of those projects are described as follows:

Expansion to Manufacturing @ Hood Road

• New warehouse area.
• New infrastructure.
• New chillers.

Completion:  2004    Architect:  Shore Tilbe Irwin & Partners.

Revised, Hood Road, Markham

• This renovation provided for redevelopment of Hood Road into a low humidity manufacturing facility. Design included for new two-level suites, dehumidification air handling, new controls, and clean room light fixtures and devices. Completion: 2002. Architect: Levine Architects.

Manufacturing Expansion, Hood Road, Markham

• Retrofit of an existing 35,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility to accommodate new product.
• Entire renovation and redesign of Mechanical and Electrical services for the Tableting area, fluid granulation, solvent coating areas, oven drying areas (solvent process), different classes of clean rooms, solvent dispensing areas, central tank and piping solvent distribution area, central boiler and chiller plant, both for process and building services.
• Provision of new 35,000 sq. ft. mechanical penthouse to accommodate new services.
• We have been involved in assisting Novopharm in production of protocols and the completing of the protocols, subsequent to their acceptance by Novopharm. In particular we have been involved with the production and completion of the IQ and OQ forms. Completion: 1991.  Architect: Levine Architects.

Manufacturing Expansion, Stouffville

This project included for a major renovation to central services, manufacturing suites and warehouse capability.  Our design work included for new electrical power, chillers, and steam boilers.  The renovation was design such that the new and renovated facility could be constructed while the existing plant remained operational.  Completion:  2001.  Architect:  Levine Architects. 

New Product Testing Laboratory Stouffville

• Provision of mechanical and electrical consulting design services for a 10,000 sq. ft. laboratory facility.
• Services include: Deionized water; acid resistant plumbing and drainage, acid neutralizing tank, variable volume laboratory exhaust hood systems, all direct digital control (DDC) systems, solvent room storage rated Class I, Div. II Group B/C; UPS power system, distribution system for helium, vacuum, compressed air.

Coating Suite, Stouffville

Class I Division 11 environment for a solvent base clean room environment. Includes dispensing and coating.

Potent Product Testing Lab

Bio-hazard environment. Class 2, Type B2, bio-hazard hoods. Bio-hazard waste; provision of work containment and disposal system.

Novobiotech

Provision of mechanical and electrical consulting services for the Novobiotech main office in Toronto.
