            Projects

Apotex Richmond Hill (Formerly Novex): Completed 2005

Construction of a 80,000 sq.ft. packaging, production and warehouse facility that is utilized for research and development and manufacturing of injectables, ophthalmics and aerosols.

Apotex Specialty Chemicals Completed 2005

Construction of a 30,000 sq.ft. facility which is utilized to manufacture products that are toxic such as blood thinners which require special environmental controls and isolation. The facility includes breathing air systems and decontamination showers.

Apotex Richmond Hill, Phase 2/3 and 4 Expansion

This project involved design of mechanical and electrical systems for a warehouse, packing and production facility. The projection space included space for the purpose of R & D and manufacturing of injectables, opthalmics and aerosols. The facility includes three floors of production space include grade D and C suites with isolator technology used for fill process. Mechanical and electrical services include new steam plant, new boiler plant, new chilled water plant, air handling for cleanliness and pressurization, new main power system, emergency power, and fire and life safety systems. Completion date: 2004.

Apotex North York (150 Signet Drive): Completed 1998

This facility that was designed in six months includes 200,000 sq.ft of production facility for manufacturing solid dosage products.

400 Ormont Drive

We completed the design of a new laboratory facility at 400 Ormont. The facility was designed with full lab services including a variable air volume fume hood exhaust system, negative pressure lab, high stack exhaust, and coordinated control system.  Lab services included natural gas, DI water, and compressed air and lab gases from central supply.  Completion: 1996.

4100 Weston Road

Fume Hood Modification: This project included developing a new hood for fume extraction in a wash-up area, and safe discharge of exhaust air.

Apotex L.S. Feasibility Study

This project involved preparing a feasibility study for a new product manufacturing system.  The report included mechanical and electrical descriptions to suit costing study required to assess the facility and project viability.  Completion: 2002.

Apotex Etobicoke, Addition of Fluid Beds

Crossey Engineering Ltd. provided mechanical and electrical consulting work for this project.  Our scope of work included:

  • Preparing design and documentation for the primary services required by the new Fluid Bed Dryer, including, chilled water, steam, condensate, compressed air and electrical power.
  • Designing necessary system changes for the areas affected by the FBD installation including plumbing and drainage, HVAC, fire protection, lighting and power systems.
  • Coordinating the required work with the Project Manager, Architect and Structural Engineer as required for the project.
  • Working drawings as required for tender of mechanical and electrical installation.
