Elgin Wintergarden Theatre, Toronto

This project consisted of the renovation of one of the last "double-deck" theatres in the world. The project was originally designed by Thomas Lamb and opened in 1913. Extensive renovation of the entire complex occurred and a lower theatre of 2,140 seats and an upper theatre seats 1,019 seats which were recreated in painstaking detail. The historic look was recreated in everything from the light fixtures to the cast iron heating radiators, and the beech leaf ceiling in the Wintergarden Theatre. Services were completely re-worked for the entire existing facility with a new backstage and lobby area.
