This project includes two phases.

For Phase 1, Crossey Engineering provided Mechanical design services for the Phase 1 project.  This project involved the renovation to the Grand Central Reception area, Kids Zone and lower level Hot Zone built as the introduction to the main display areas at that level.

Our design work included re-using existing services to meet the HVAC needs of the new space design and the addition of modern washrooms including parent and child, special needs and care provider area.  To handle the increased lighting load of the Hot Zone the design incorporated a displacement ventilation technique to improve comfort and reduce energy consumption.

For Phase 2, we provided Mechanical and Electrical engineering services for the Challenge Zone and Laboratory Space.

Our mechanical scope of work included new air conditioning system and in-floor heating for the newly constructed Challenge Zone.  Remodeling of the laboratory space included air conditioning, fume hood design, and plumbing system for lab sinks complete with acid neutralizers.

Our electrical scope of work included extending strand dimming system and channels to the renovated space, provision of new lighting, power and systems for the renovated space and the new addition, finalization of site lighting in surrounding areas, modification of existing bus duct configuration for exhibition lighting.
