Crossey Engineering is providing the mechanical and electrical design services for the renovations and addition to the Athletic and Wellness Centre for Centennial College in Toronto. The facility is two levels with the upper being aerobics and a health spa as well as some meeting rooms. The ground floor is lockers and support area. Size 37,000 sq. ft. renovations / 27,000 sq. ft. new construction. Leed Design initiatives include: Ice Storage; solar domestic hot water; rainwater harvesting and energy recovery. We is responsible for feasibility studies for renewable technologies including solar thermal systems and ice storage. Our proficiency in energy modelling helped to bring the building systems together in order to create a highly efficient building. The building was modeled and achieved a 42% energy reduction over MNECB and helped the building achieve LEED Silver status. Estimate Budget: 21 Million Architect: Kongats Architects
