| Revitalization of Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto |
|
Nathan Phillips Square is an events landmark in the centre of the City of Toronto. It is the lively public gathering place. Crossey Engineering provided mechanical, electrical and lighting consulting services for this project. This project was divided into 5 Phases which include: Agora/Theatre - a theatre for the city - where planned and unforeseen evens are encouraged, against a vast forested perimeter of intimate programmed green rooms, a reflecting pool that serves as a skating rink in winter months, a food and skate rental kiosk, Peace Garden, bike-kiosk and information desk, walkways, below grade work (parking garage), new parking access (south west, north west and north east); ramps, etc. Recently, the first phase of the project and the country's largest accessible green roof, has just won a CSLA (Canadian Society of Landscape Architects) Regional Honour Award.
