This facility was designed with many environmental and sustainable technologies that put it at the forefront of sustainable building design. The ILC is a "Live Building" with sensors throughout which allow students to study, monitor and manipulate data generated from the building systems Awards: The project received the final BREEAM Green Leaf Eco-Rating Program analysis, and it achieved a "4 Green Leafs" level which means it has achieved "national industry leadership in eco-efficiency, design, practices and management commitment to continuous improvement and industry leadership. Sustainable Design: - Building used as a teaching forum not only for classrooms but for actual design (pedagogical).

- Uses 347V lighting system to mitigate excessive copper usage.
