University of Windsor, Medical Education Building, Windsor

This building houses the new Faculty of Medicine at the University of Windsor.  The building includes a gross anatomy lab, virtual anatomy lab, examination rooms, group learning suites, offices and Multimedia classrooms.  The Multimedia Classrooms are designed as Virtual Classrooms so that the Professor can provide a lecture to a class at both the University of Windsor and the University of Western Ontario from either facility.

The building is designed to meet a LEED Gold standard and includes a Green Living Wall, air to air heat recovery, energy efficient low voltage lighting controlled by daylight and occupancy sensors, energy efficient glazing, variable volume pumping and a rain water cistern that supplies water to the urinals, water closets and irrigation system.  Est. Completion: August, 2009.  Overall Construction Costs:  $18 Million.
