FATHOM FIVE NATIONAL PARK/VISITOR CENTRE in Tobermory, Ontario. Crossey Engineering provided the Mechanical and Electrical design services for this Visitor Centre in Tobermory, Ontario. The building included exhibit spaces, offices, public services, presentation centre and gift shop. Due to the remote location, mechanical work included a well water treatment centre, sanitary septic and waste water treatment system and a fire storage tank. Sustainable design principals incorporated into the building included automated windows, heat pumps, high efficiency building envelope, high efficiency lighting and automated occupancy controls, integrated building automation system, and solar energy for domestic hot water and a demonstration level photovoltaic system. During tenant occupancy Crossey Engineering provided lighting design for the exhibit area. Project Value: $5M. Completion Date: 2006.
